At The Revolutionary Underground Foundation we focus on empowering girls and young women in Africa through access to education, learning resources and technology, leadership skills and mentors. We encourage and promote the development of the mind, body, creativity and spirit of each girl. We challenge and inspire each girl and help her develop the skills and confidence to enable her to strive towards achieving her personal goals and to contribute to the wider global community.

The Revolutionary Underground Foundation provides girls and young women in Africa with mentoring, emotional support, meals, educational counseling and support, school supplies, computer access, books, literacy classes, field trips, leadership training, health resources and reproductive education.

The Revolutionary Underground Foundation is firmly committed to providing educational assistance and a creative environment. Girls are encouraged to develop a life-long love of learning. We help them to develop confidence, leadership skills, resilience and self-esteem in an environment which encourages respect for the individual, together with tolerance and understanding of others.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, over twenty-four million girls do not attend primary school, and boys outnumber girls in school attendance by at least 8 percent.  And of those girls who do enroll, 9 percent more of them drop out before the end of the sixth grade than boys

When girls in developing African nations receive an education and earn income, they put 90 percent of their earnings into their families, compared only to 40 percent for men. When a girl in the developing world goes to school for seven or more years, she marries four years later than she otherwise would and has two or more fewer children. The children she does have are more likely to be healthy and survive past the age of five.
